Girlguiding groups have been meeting virtually throughout the pandemic, and Milton Keynes is no exception. Every girl attending Rangers Guides, Brownies and Rainbows in Milton Keynes has been offered the opportunity to attend virtual meetings online! Leaders have got to grips with new technology and adapted our programme to fit.
Rangers

Walton Rangers started meeting on Zoom pretty early into the first lockdown, back in March 2020 and have met almost every week since. Face to face we met for two hours, twice a month, but with so many plans and activities cancelled we moved to meeting weekly. We’ve made the most of this new format: playing games like Pictionary and Scattegories, solving online escape rooms and inviting guests to talk about career development, stargazing and teaching us sign language. We’ve had a virtual prom, 80s night and a visit from Lulu the goat!
For the girls, this group has been a lifeline, a safe place to connect with others and just have fun. As a leader it’s an absolute privilege to be able to help them navigate this tricky time.
